The Good Thing About Open Enrollment of Affordable Care Act

The “Affordable Care Act” (ACA) is the name for the comprehensive health care reform law and its amendments. The law addresses health insurance coverage, health care costs, and preventive care. The law was enacted in two parts: The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law on March 23, 2010, and was amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act on March 30, 2010. Its open enrollment period runs from November 1, Sunday through December 15, 2020, Tuesday. The coverage then automatically begins on January 1, 2021. Please note that if you weren’t able to enroll in a plan by December 15, you won’t get the 2021 coverage unless of course, if you qualify for the Special Enrollment Period. Persons who are qualified for the Special Enrollment Period are those who have certain life events such as getting married, having a baby, adopting a child, or losing health coverage.

Insurance is indeed a great help when it comes to strengthening our financial security. Open enrollment is intended to give us a chance to sign up for a new health insurance plan or know the difference of every insurance plan.
